Yoga
promoting awareness and wellness
in the Iyengar tradition

I am a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) and have been a loyal Iyengar yoga student since 1999. In 2014 I traveled to India to study with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Memorial Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune. There, I studied with Prashant, Geeta, Abhijata Iyengar, and Devki Desai. Other senior-level teachers with whom I have studied: Leslie Bradley, Craig Kurtz, Nancy Stechert, Elise Miller, Patrica Walden, Dean and Rebecca Lerner, Gabriella Guibilaro, Stephanie Quirk, and others. Influenced by these teachers, I am grateful and deeply indebted to each one of them for the knowledge, inspiration, and compassion they have taught me. As a student, I continue to learn, grow and reap the benefits from my teachers.
I am a passionate student of yoga and enjoy sharing my passion with others. In teaching, I share the joy, precision, and creativity of the Iyengar practice through dynamic sequences and new variations of the poses. I teach with an emphasis on alignment and awareness, encouraging focus and balance for mind and body.
I also hold a certification as a Nutrition Educator from Bauman College.
In addition to yoga, I am passionate about spending time with family (especially my three granddaughters) and friends, cooking, gardening, long walks, and traveling! Italy, of course, is my favorite place to visit!
About Iyengar Yoga
Yogacharya B. K. S. Iyengar (14 December 1918 – 20 August 2014) was a revolutionary figure in the field of yoga. His innovative approach to the subject made it accessible to students worldwide. Through his practice of yoga for well over 75 years came an in-depth approach to the science, art, and philosophy of yoga. He created an impact on the world through his teachings, flowering in dedicated teachers and centers around the world. His students coined the term "Iyengar Yoga." The world-famous author of "Light on Yoga," he was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time Magazine.
The hallmarks of B. K. S. Iyengar's teaching and practice are the attention to detail, precision in action, intelligence of sequencing, and the artful use of props.
